EDEN BENDER’S creative path began in early childhood, when she would sculpt using tools she asked for in place of toys. Growing up in the suburbs of Toronto— surrounded by farmland and a nearby junkyard she affectionately called her personal treasure trove—Eden developed a unique relationship with materials and storytelling. She also spent time volunteering for charitable organizations, where the people she met and their stories of strength and resilience became a lasting inspiration for her work.
Eden earned her Fine Arts degree from York University. Her accolades include the Lindsay Morris Memorial Award from Allied Artists of America and the People’s Choice Award in The Brain Project. Her work has been featured in various publications, such as Beautiful Home Studio Pyramid, Objekt International, 500 Figures in Clay (Lark Books), and The Black and White of Eden Bender (Fusion Magazine).
Her art has been exhibited internationally at the International Juried Biennale in London, England; the International Ceramic Exhibition in Warsaw, Poland; and the Master Class in St. Petersburg, Russia.
